In detail:
Kelly has always loved thorny tasks and taking a data-led approach to solve them. Today she uses technology to help uncover insights to solve her clients’ problems. After completing a PhD at CalTech, Los Angeles, Kelly started her career at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she worked on computational modelling of planetary atmospheres. With a later move into consultancy, Kelly then ran data-led transformation projects with clients in the utilities sector to manage regulatory risks and optimise supply chains. She joined Baringa in 2019 to apply her data expertise to client challenges across multiple industries.
Kelly integrates and interrogates her clients’ disparate data to understand their performance, the risks they’re facing, and how to improve their operations and efficiency. This could involve implementing new layers of KPIs to measure success, upgrading enterprise resource planning systems or designing data strategies to meet future goals. She’s always looking for the incremental quick wins that will allow her clients to achieve their strategic ambitions. Kelly thrives on the variety of projects that her role at Baringa offers - she works across all industries - creating bespoke procurement apps for utilities companies, implementing CRM systems for media organisations or trading tools for commodities traders.
Kelly’s approach puts people and professional relationships at the heart of every project. She believes integrity is fundamental to building strong, authentic relationships with clients so she’ll focus on how clients are looking to transform to see if and how she’s able to help. Kicking off a project, she loves assembling the right team from Baringa’s array of cross functional experts to work together on her client’s challenge. In her experience, it’s the depth of expertise and willingness to collaborate across departments that sets Baringa apart.
Outside work, Kelly is kept busy with her two children and a menagerie of pets. Most of her time is spent outdoors, and she especially loves water sports. She loves trips to Llangollen and Bala Lake in North Wales with her family for the chance it gives her to dust off her windsurf board and get out on the open water.
