Phil currently leads the Energy Retail and Utilities practice at Baringa Partners. He joined the Partner team in 2009 to lead the expansion of the business into the Energy Networks and Water areas. Phil has 25 years of experience in the Energy and Utilities sectors having initially worked for Exxon and subsequently for more than 15 years in management consulting. Phil has worked on business and IT change programmes with most of the major Utility and Energy companies in the UK including National Grid, United Utilities, Thames Water, EDF Energy, Southern Water and ENW. Phil also recently played an interim role as IT Director on the executive team of UK Power Networks during the successful acquisition of the business from EDF Energy.
Phil's key areas of specialism include Energy Transmission and Distribution, Water Company Operations, Energy Retail, IT strategy and effectiveness, Asset Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Operational Customer Service, Business Case Development, Transformation and Change and converting strategy into meaningful programmes of work that will deliver value.
Phil now spends a lot of time supporting clients developing and delivering sustainable transformation programmes to realise their company's Vision. He is skilled at supporting executives understand the opportunities from effective use of IT. Phil is known for keeping a balance between the people and delivery needs of a job and therefore is known for driving through results while keeping teams happy and motivated.
Phil is married with two teenage children and is keen on sport and music. He particularly enjoys watching football, rugby, tennis and playing golf at the weekends when not being a taxi service for his children.
