Baringa continues to grow its European presence, with new offices, hires and offerings across the region

Growing our business across Europe has always been a key part of Baringa’s strategy. The ‘why’ is obvious – Europe is a powerhouse innovator, home to many organisations operating at the forefront of our core sectors – energy and resources, financial services, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals and life sciences.
In the past year, we’ve accelerated our efforts to support clients in the region, expanding our existing hubs and opening new ones and making a number of high-profile hires into our European team. All this means we’re now able to partner with organisations on a broader range of challenges than ever before.
Expanding our geographical footprint
We’ve extended our reach across Europe, recently opening new hubs in Berlin and Munich and expanding our existing footprint in Düsseldorf, Zug, Rotterdam, Brussels and Sofia to serve our growing client base in the region. Beyond this, we continue to support clients where they need us, from a boardroom in Basel to a windfarm in the North Sea.
Hiring brilliant, new talent
As our geographical reach has grown, so has our team, with a number of high-profile hires in recent months.
We brought on board a new partner – Ralph Behrendt – as we continue to grow our energy retail business. Ralph works with global and regional utilities to help them define and build businesses that are fit for the future. He specialises in transforming how these businesses are run through technology and process optimisation.
At the same time, we’ve been ramping up our work with energy market investors, advising clients on their investments in renewable assets like wind parks and solar farms. We’ve welcomed Marc Daube and Paul Hennemeyer to bolster our global team of energy market experts across Europe, APAC and the US. Marc has over 10 years of experience in energy market fundamentals and commercial advisory. He spent the last year and a half at enercity focussing on strategy development and is returning to Baringa where he spent the early part of his career. Paul is a seasoned energy executive with deep expertise in origination, project development and finance. Most recently, Paul was Managing Director at GE Capital where he and his team catalysed $3 billion of third-party capital for energy projects across the world.
We’re also continuing to expand our market leading Commodity and Energy Trading consulting team, having made a number of senior hires into our Swiss hub in Zug. Olena Isaieva joins us as a Director focused on the European trading markets. She brings 15 years' experience spanning trading, shipping, risk management and climate change related topics. She is a board member of Women in Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) in Switzerland, where she promotes gender equality within the industry and supports women in the acceleration of their career. Christine Michel and Mathijs Lugthart also join the team from an energy and shipping background respectively.
Extending our reach
The result of all this? We’re working across the entire spectrum of energy companies in Europe – retailers, network organisations, traders, utilities and investors – in a widening array of national markets.
Beyond energy, our client base across sectors continue to grow, spanning financial services, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals and life sciences. In recognition of this, we have appointed Laveshni Reddy as a Partner to lead our pharmaceuticals and life sciences practice in Switzerland. Laveshni is an expert in helping organisations in this space to use data and technology to transform how they operate, drive innovation and ultimately transform the way the industry interacts with patients.
Putting people first at every stage
As our business expands and evolves in the region, we continue to put people first, placing them at the heart of everything we do. Testament to this is our recent recognition as the best consulting organisation to work for in Germany by Great Place To Work – and the best employer in any industry in the Nord-Rhein-Westfalen area. Our unique culture is key to our success, so maintaining this as our business grows and transforms in Europe is paramount, as it is in other parts of the world.
Onwards and upwards
We’re committed to continuing our growth across Europe and are hiring at all levels to support this. You can view all open roles in Europe or to discuss a project, please get in touch.
