For as long as she can remember, Emily’s been led by a compass pointing towards purpose. As a child, that meant hand-writing letters to world leaders. As an adult, it means bringing her passion for sustainability and decades of experience in finance to bear on one of the most urgent questions facing her clients: how do I build sustainability and social responsibility into my business?
It’s a question she’s helped some of the world’s largest banks, asset management companies and insurance firms to answer.
Part of Emily’s skill lies in her love of what she calls ‘detective work’. That means being curious enough to ask unexpected questions, the kind that make clients step back and see their issues in a whole new light.
Behind Emily’s work lies a simple clear-sighted conviction: that the financial services sector has the power to bring about a fairer society and healthier environment, if it invests in those things. Not content to sit back and wait for that to happen, Emily’s studying for a Master’s in Sustainability and Leadership at Cambridge. For her, it’s as much about developing her own brand of curious, ego-free leadership as it is about sharpening her expertise.
Known by her colleagues as a whirlwind of action and efficiency, Emily finds time to complete a ‘miracle morning’ routine of yoga, meditation and mental prep, and get her two children ready for the world each day before sitting down to work, often before the sun is up.
