If you could have one superpower what would it be?
When I first watched The Matrix I loved the idea of being able to have an entire skill or body of knowledge uploaded into my brain instantaneously - it still appeals!
In detail:
Andy joined Baringa in 2025, bringing over 30 years of experience in leveraging technology and data to drive better outcomes for clients. His career has been predominantly focused on the Government and public sector, where he sees the ongoing demand for 'more and better for less' as a unique opportunity for transformative disruption. As an AI optimist, Andy believes that AI will be a key enabler of positive societal change, revolutionising the way we work and interact with Government services.
However, he recognises that these opportunities come with significant risks that must be carefully managed. Ensuring that changes do not negatively impact vulnerable citizens, reduce access to essential services, or increase security risks for individuals or the country, are all paramount.
Andy is driven by working with clients and colleagues to understand problems, find solutions and then collaborate to deliver better outcomes. He believes that successful transformation is never enabled by technology alone. Over the years, working as part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team has always been a highlight of Andy’s most rewarding and successful projects. By working in this way, he has been privileged to work on a range of projects that have delivered genuine impact that lasts.
Andy is a keen cyclist and enjoys testing himself on challenging (hilly!) routes both in the UK and abroad. He is an enthusiastic adopter of green technology and has almost stopped using gas/hydrocarbons completely at home. He loves travelling with his wife and 2 daughters.
