In detail:
When Chris finished his law degree, the only thing he knew was that he didn’t want to be a lawyer. What he did know was that he wanted variety, and that he was ready to move beyond the world of classrooms and exams. Consulting offered him the “no two days are alike” work experience he was looking for, and after five years at Accenture, a trusted friend’s recommendation brought him to Baringa.
As a partner in Baringa’s banking practice, Chris helps large financial organisations solve their biggest, most difficult problems. Over the past 14 years, he’s helped grow the financial services team from 15 people to 300. And for the past four years, he’s developed Baringa’s financial crime unit. It’s those opportunities to build something – and the people he gets to work with while doing it – that make Baringa special for him.
If you want to find Chris on any given project, look in the trenches. He loves being in the thick of the action with his clients, working with them to make change happen. His happy place is doing the heavy lifting with a team of Baringa people who are learning, developing and enjoying the journey. Developing his team is important to him, as he wants to make sure he leaves behind a positive legacy and a business that will flourish long into the future.
When it comes to the weekend, Chris stays active, either playing sport or chasing around his two young daughters. He also loves food (cooking and eating) and exploring the world in search of new cuisine to try. Here to variety is the order of the day – from street food in Bali to fine dining in Italy – it’s all good.
