"Technology has advanced significantly over the last 10 years, but many traditional financial services clients are struggling to adopt them—often due to constraints imposed by their legacy estate. It’s key for these organisations to balance business objectives with IT risk reduction to maximise the value derived from new technology."

In detail:
George is a director in Baringa’s Digital and Technology capability and leads our architecture practice.
A true technical and financial services thought leader, with more than 20 years’ experience spanning engineering and architecture roles in industry and consulting, George started his career in defence and national security at a system integrator before moving on to lead an architecture team at BNP Paribas Cardiff. He then subsequently made the move into consultancy.
George is highly experienced in delivering large-scale business and technology transformations with a breadth of experience across all architecture domains. He is passionate about bringing pragmatism and delivery focus to architecture rather than ivory-tower purism. He recognises that delivering change at pace requires compromise with appropriate controls in place to remediate the resulting debt.
George is equally passionate about establishing or enhancing architecture functions and leads the Baringa architecture capability as practice coach. Recently, he has supported several organisations to adapt their architecture controls and processes while adopting agile ways of working.
Away from work, George is a keen cook and brings his love of technology into the kitchen with more gadgets than anyone should own. He’s also a keen rugby enthusiast and coaches a junior rugby team in his hometown of St Albans. As a father to two daughters, he’s a strong advocate of equality in all walks of life and is helping bring three teams together to enable local girls to continue to play rugby in their teenage years. When he’s not in the kitchen or on a rugby pitch, George can be found in his shed indulging in his newfound hobby of carpentry. The lure of power tools, design, and delivery are temptations he finds difficult to resist.
