"Without a clear understanding of where you need to go, it is impossible to know how far along the journey you are, and what route you need to take. This is the same with large scale transformation. I love working with clients to build the map, shape the vehicle and identify the shortcuts to get them there."

In detail:

Mike joined Baringa in 2023, bringing over ten years’ experience across government and the wider public sector, focusing on large scale transformation during periods of internal and external disruption. His initial experience was across the NHS, in Corporate Services and then Operations, where his last role was managing an A&E and non-elective care pathway at a large London teaching hospital.  In 2016 he moved to consultancy, where he has focused on transformation in both the NHS and government.

Mike’s passion is working with clients to get to the heart of their problems, building connections across their organisations and teams, and helping them unlock the next stage of their transformational growth. He is most happy responding to the breadth of challenges that clients face, and at the pace with which these need to be addressed in order to get them back on track.

Building on his NHS experience crunching numbers to understand how best to respond to fluctuating A&E demand, Mike loves using data and insights drawn from operations to better understand the landscape and inform decision-making.  This can be through the implementation of Transformation Management Offices (TMOs) that drive accountability, adaptability and, importantly, delivery, or through the adaptation of processes to respond to the latest demands on the system.

Mike loves long walks with his wife and two children near their home in Sussex, and trips to the cinema. In 2019 he joined the board of MediCinema, which builds cinemas in hospitals, as Vice Chair and Treasurer, bringing together his love of cinema and passion for meaningful transformational change in the public sector.  In 2025, the charity was recognised for their impact with a BAFTA film award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema.
