Roy is a Partner in our Financial Services practice, helping to scale Baringa’s advisory capabilities in the digital, data, AI, and wider modern technology space. His background is a hybrid of business performance and growth with a strong lineage on key enablers to drive higher performance through modern technology, data, and AI applied effectively.
Roy's a recognised leader in financial services and has held a series of key leadership roles over the last 30 years in both consulting and industry. He has significant knowledge in end-to-end business strategy, distribution best practices and strategies in retail financial services coupled with end-to-end design and application of modern architecture applications and replatforming programmes. He has significant experience in large-scale business and technology digital transformation agendas – including large-scale, complex migration programmes.
Roy has a particular passion for developing talent at all levels, building high performance teams and coaching others to achieve their greatest potential. He is a frequent thought leader and presenter at industry forums, where he shares insights on modern technology patterns, end-to-end ecosystem enablement, and effective transformation execution.
Roy formerly served as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at esure while it was under the ownership of private equity, BainCapital. At esure, Roy was the key architect for their strategic blueprint programme, building a digital first business with market leading technology, data, and migration platforms and ecosystems.
In addition, he has held several strategic roles at Accenture (initially joining in New York with Andersen Consulting). Roy spent 23 years driving large-scale business and technology transformation programmes. He was Accenture insurance strategy lead for the UK and Ireland and was a key driver of Accenture’s digital, innovation and transformation agenda. He launched and was responsible for their digital insurance solution centre (DISC) – a test and learn ecosystem for clients and prospects. He was also sponsor and lead for Accenture’s insurtech global workstream – a start-up accelerator programme, part of Fintech Innovation Labs.
Away from work, Roy enjoys spending time with family, sports, and films. He is married and father of three, where he’s pre-occupied with the never-ending task of being a volunteered Uber driver (with very low customer satisfaction scores and customers never paying their fares). He enjoys playing golf, F1, and the outdoors. His lifelong goal is to visit all of the F1 circuits across the globe.
