In detail: Shamil joined Baringa in 2018, bringing a wealth of experience in building global data solutions and a knack for making the complex seem simple. Growing up in the vibrant city of London and studying computer science at the University of Manchester, Shamil has been immersed in consulting since graduation, working on intricate global data projects. Early in his career, he played a pivotal role in transforming the music industry from physical to digital, managing rights and royalties, and attending some of the most fascinating music conferences worldwide.
At Baringa, Shamil has led some of our most ambitious data programmes. From capital programme reporting for a £5bn fibre capital programme through to creating a global strategy, data platform, and operating model for a market insight platform in an energy trading organisation. His projects are as diverse as they are challenging. More recently, he has been building a global real-time data platform to understand trading risk and lay the foundations for a new digital capability.
Shamil is known for work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and logical problem-solving skills. He thrives on tackling complex projects with a strategic focus on client needs, always delivering valuable outcomes and leaving behind a sustainable capability.
Outside the office, you’ll find him indulging his creative side as an avid photographer, capturing moments that tell a story. He loves to travel, seeking out new adventures and experiences, and keeps fit with yoga. Whether he's snapping photos, exploring new places, or striking a yoga pose, Shamil cherishes the time spent making memories with friends and family.
