In detail:
After a degree in Geography, Zoe got onto a graduate scheme with a leading UK bank. She spent five years in the business before moving into consultancy within the CRM space, to experience more variety. She has spent twenty years as a consultant, ending up with one of the Big Four. One of her proudest pieces of work was delivering Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) into her clients, working with boards and executives to embed and deliver the outcomes that the regulator wanted. This work really helped drive greater accountability and responsibility into global investment banks, smaller UK entities and foreign banks.
Feeling that she would prefer to work in a smaller firm she was attracted to join Baringa. She was bowled over by the firm’s approach to business, epitomised by the financial services lead Partner knowing something about every one of the 50 people in the team. Getting the best outcomes for customers is what drives Zoe, and day by day she helps clients implement and embed regulatory change to achieve that end and create greater efficiencies. She achieves this by working collaboratively with clients, talking and listening to aid greater understanding. Zoe is also driven by self-belief. She was brought up by a single mum with MS who believed that anything was achievable and was a brilliant role model. People know where they stand with Zoe. She is authentic and honest, which she believes is very important in building trust.
Outside of work, she grows vegetables on her allotment. She runs and plays tennis and does a different 10k race every month. A lover of horses, her fantasy job would be to run a riding stables accessible to the disabled.
